Event Details

One of the most innovative U.S. government buildings is currently under construction in the Bay Area. The new NASA Ames Sustainability Base is an active collaboration of visionary designers, scientists and seasoned builders. The project is striving for LEED Platinum Certification with the U.S. Green Building Council and is an example of new frontiers being made in building science and sustainability.  Integrated into the project are NASA technologies that enable the building to predict and adapt, on-demand, to current climate and weather conditions. With integrated environmental monitoring, the new Sustainability Base is striving to become a “net-zero building”, which uses no more energy than is produced on-site , as well as making significant reductions in water use, while creating a comfortable work environment for NASA employees.

The project is designed by William McDonough + Partners, the Architect of Record is AECOM and Swinerton Builders is the General Contractor.

Join us for this rare opportunity to tour an active LEED Platinum construction job site and see the project from the General Contractors perspective.

Although outer space is unlimited, space on this tour is not. Please RSVP..
